Sandlapper Therapy Group

Effective Date: October 23, 2026

1. Program Description

Sandlapper Therapy Group provides SMS text messaging to patients, parents, legal guardians, caregivers, and prospective clients who have voluntarily opted in to receive communications from our practice.

Our SMS messaging program may include:

  • Appointment confirmations, reminders, and cancellations

  • Scheduling and rescheduling notifications

  • Office closures and operational updates

  • Billing and payment reminders

  • Responses to general inquiries

  • Administrative communications related to speech-language therapy services

Our SMS program is intended for administrative communication and is not a substitute for secure clinical communication.

2. Consent to Receive Messages

By voluntarily providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opting in to SMS communications, you authorize Sandlapper Therapy Group to send text messages to that number.

Consent may be collected through electronic registration forms, patient intake paperwork, website forms, or other documented opt-in methods.

Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of receiving services.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on your appointment schedule, service needs, and interactions with our practice.

4. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless carrier's service plan.

5. Opt-Out Instructions

You may discontinue SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message.

After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message. No further messages will be sent through this program unless you provide renewed consent.

6. Help and Support

For assistance, reply HELP to any SMS message or contact our office directly.

7. Privacy and Security

Sandlapper Therapy Group respects patient privacy and follows applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA where applicable.

Standard SMS messaging may not provide the same security protections as a HIPAA-compliant patient portal. Patients and caregivers should avoid transmitting sensitive medical information through standard text messages.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Information may be shared with messaging service providers only as necessary to provide the SMS service and subject to applicable privacy protections.

8. Carrier Disclaimer

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Emergency Communications

SMS messages are not continuously monitored and must not be used for emergencies. In a medical emergency, call 911.

10. Modifications

Sandlapper Therapy Group may modify these terms periodically. Updated terms will be posted on our website.
