  • We welcome a conversation with you regarding our speech-language services or any questions and concerns you may have. Consultations are free and can be scheduled through our contact page.

  • A speech-language evaluation is a combination of formal and informal assessments we use to determine if a delay or disorder is present. It also tells us how severe the delay or disorder may be and informs our recommended frequency of services.

    Speech-language therapy helps develop skills in the areas of speech sounds, language understanding, language expression, stuttering, social communication, and chronic hoarseness.

    For our young adult and adult populations, we are poised to treat fluency and voice disorders as well as other areas of speech-language skills.

  • Angela Hancock, MSP, CCC-SLP, owner of Sandlapper Therapy Group, LLC, is an animated author and presenter.  She is passionate about conveying challenging concepts to SLPs, teachers, and other professionals in accessible metaphors. Angela was an oral seminar presenter at the 2023 ASHA Convention, and has been a live presenter for SpeechTherapyPD.com, among other professional development opportunities.  Angela welcomes professional learning presenter opportunities.

  • Our advocacy services provide support to parents, caregivers, and families as they navigate a state’s educational system. We partner with caregivers to secure appropriate educational programs, including accommodations and modifications, for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disorders. Our team can help you effectively communicate your concerns with your school district, understand and participate in the IEP process, and evaluate the suitability of your child’s current educational placement.

Appointments for speech language evaluations, speech-language therapy, and consultations are requested by direct contact via email or phone. Appointments are scheduled at our clinic. We are accepting new clients!

  • We accept Tricare Select, ChampVA, Blue Cross Blue Shield (selected plans), CIGNA and private pay. Please call us to inquire if we accept your particular plan or for our private pay rates.

  • Yes! We are accepting new clients.

  • A child can be referred for speech therapy by a parent, pediatrician, physician, dentist, early interventionist, psychologist, other therapists, and more.  An adult may be referred by Primary Physician, Dentist, ENT, Other Specialist Provider, or self-refer. If you are seeking reimbursement from insurance for services, a Primary Care Physician referral is recommended.

  • We are primarily a pediatric clinic. We serve children of all ages from birth to adolescence. We are poised to accept adult clients in specific speech-language areas such as stuttering and voice.

  • The length of time for speech langauge therapy services is dependent on many factors individual to the client.  Attendance rate, specific diagnoses, severity and complexity of deficits, carryover into the home, age, frequency of therapy are just a few of the variables that can have a positive or negative impact on the length of time a client requires in receiving speech-language therapy services.  However, a client’s progress will be monitored in every session and no client will be kept in speech language therapy services if it is not appropriate.
